These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the VERA platform, operated by VERA Innovations (Pty) Ltd.

1. About VERA

VERA is a decentralised identity and secure messaging platform enabling organisations to exchange verifiable credentials and securely authenticate counterparties.

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the VERA platform for legitimate business purposes.

You may not:

• Copy, reproduce or modify the platform
• Reverse engineer or decompile software
• Distribute or sublicense the platform
• Use it for unlawful purposes

3. Orders and Payments

• All prices are inclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise
• Payments are due upfront
• Additional user fees may apply
• We reserve the right to refuse orders

4. Refund Policy

Refunds are issued only in cases of platform defects such as:

• Inability to verify credentials due to system error
• Prolonged unplanned downtime

No refunds for:

• User error
• Mid-cycle cancellations
• Device incompatibility

5. User Responsibilities

• Maintain strong passwords (minimum 12 characters)
• Secure your devices
• Review and monitor audit logs
• Notify us of suspected breaches

6. Data and Security

While we implement strong security controls, we do not guarantee absolute protection against cyber attacks.

7. Limitation of Liability

VERA is not liable for indirect, special or consequential damages, including loss of profits or business interruption.

Liability is limited to the fees paid in the month preceding the claim.

8. Third-Party Services

VERA integrates with third-party providers including identity, cloud and messaging services. Their use is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

9. Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time before the next billing cycle. Access continues until the end of the paid period.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
